Stronger recruitment starts with a clear understanding of where you stand and where you can grow. Developed by NAWLEE with input from experts across the field, the Recruitment Readiness Framework brings together research, data-informed practices, and practitioner insights to help law enforcement agencies assess their recruitment and hiring processes. Two complementary checklists help agencies identify strengths, uncover gaps, and prioritize actionable improvements. Whether you are refining an established approach or building a stronger foundation, the framework offers a practical starting point for meaningful change.
NAWLEE offers two versions of the Recruitment Readiness Framework to help agencies strengthen their recruiting and hiring practices. The Priority Designation Checklist organizes actions by advancement level, while the Recruiting and Hiring Workstream Checklist groups related actions by functional area and workflow. Agencies may select the framework that best aligns with their organizational structure, staffing model, and the teams responsible for different stages of the recruiting and hiring process.
