Webinar: Community Engagement: Turn Insights Into Leadership Action . Thursday August 15th 2024

Community engagement continues to be an important topic in law enforcement.

One overlooked and critical consideration is maintaining that engagement over time to keep a healthy pulse on your community’s needs, wants, and desires.

Tracking and quantifying public perception and sentiment allows you to develop more effective and efficient strategies for near-term (quick-turn) and long-term policy development, direction, and implementation.

This also helps build trust with your constituency because they see that you are listening and taking action based on those engagements.

Join CivicPlus VP of Market Research Brenden Elwood and NAWLEE Executive Director Kym Craven as they discuss the results of a national survey conducted on behalf of NAWLEE. In addition, you’ll learn how replicating a similar engagement with your local constituents could break down barriers and open new recruitment avenues as you strive to reach your recruitment, hiring, and retention goals.

Webinar: Preparing for Election Season: Protecting the Public. Monday August 19th 2024

The threat environment around elections has markedly elevated over the past several years. While the country has seen periods of tense elections before in its history, recent decades had featured largely peaceful elections.

During these years, the role of law enforcement during elections was largely passive, requiring little pre-planning or focused coordination. Now however, states and localities all across the country witness an election season marked by increased threats, harassment, intimidation, disruption, confrontation, and attempted violence.

In this new environment, law enforcement has a challenging balancing act of a mission: to both seriously prepare to address potential violent or disruptive activity while also ensuring that the environment remains welcoming to all voters.

This webinar will provide law enforcement leaders with research and field-tested strategies for how to meet this moment, and deliver for their communities in the coming election season. Participants will leave with some great resources to help their agencies prepare for the election season ahead.

Webinar: Changing the Culture to Address Officer-Involved Domestic Violence
Cases of violence in the homes and relationships of agency members are a reality. Incidents of violence in law enforcement families are no different from those in the general population and can escalate to homicide, suicide, and familicide.  By sharing personal experience and focusing on national promising practices and resources, this webinar will present information on how, through agency policy, comprehensive training, effective leadership, and family and victim relationship building, agencies can address gaps in service, hold offenders accountable, support victims, and significantly impact not only the health and wellness of individual officers, but also strengthen agency-wide culture and climate and community trust.
