Member Research Projects

 

NAWLEE supports research conducted by its members with certain parameters

  1. NAWLEE will review the survey and any interview questions and then provide feedback to ensure the research aligns with the mission of NAWLEE. A review period of 60-90 days should be planned.
  2. Researcher will provide a summary write up, in Word, at least 30 days prior to the notification of our membership to include
    1. A few sentences about the research
    2. A few sentences about the researcher
    3. Project start/end dates
    4. Complete contact information of the researchers
    5. A link to the research questions (if applicable)
    6. A link to sign up to be interviewed (if applicable)
  3. A jpg (pre-approved by NAWLEE) is needed to place the research and interview information on social media
  4. A commitment that NAWLEE be mentioned in the introduction of the final research paper
  5. A commitment that NAWLEE will receive a copy of the research paper in PDF
  6. NAWLEE will share the information to members either by placing the information on social media, the NAWLEE website and/or via email.  The method of distribution is at the discretion of NAWLEE.

Women in Police Management Research

The purpose of the research is to examine what processes successful senior leadership executive in policing used to promote through the ranks during their career. The research will be used to develop and present a career path model as a blueprint for women to employ, who endeavor to rise to senior leadership positions within the policing profession and ascend through policing ranks.
