Dawn started her career as an auxiliary police officer and part-time dispatcher with the Marion Police Dept. She was hired as Marion’s first female officer in August of 1993. Dawn has worked her way up through the ranks also holding the ranks of Detective, Patrol Sergeant and Lieutenant prior to being named Chief of Police in April of 2014. Since becoming Chief of Police Dawn has purchased a new CAD/RMS system, purchased computers for all police cars, added two new K-9’s, added two new officers and one additional dispatcher, and purchased new cameras for all patrol cars. Dawn serves as Chairman of the Board for the Southern Illinois Enforcement Group (SIEG) a drug taskforce. Dawn also serves on the Williamson County 911 board, and the Child Death Review Team for Southern Illinois.
