Lt Anna Richardson-Griffin joined the Tampa Police Department in 2005 after spending 15 years in corporate America in various leadership and management positions with companies like Ford Motor Company and Wells Fargo. She drastically changed careers after deciding she wanted to give back to her community and make a difference in people’s lives. During her police career, she has served as a Field Training Officer, a training Corporal, a lead detective, a patrol Sergeant, a Patrol Lieutenant and Quality Assurance Lieutenant. She has been a member of several committees at the Tampa Police Department that are formed to innovate and grow her agency such as the Social Media committee, Versadex Improvement committee, Officer Wellness committee, New Supervisor Leadership Development committee, Evaluation Improvement committee, and served for several years as the L.G.B.T. liaison for the Tampa Police department. She is a Florida certified instructor where teaches Field Training Officer courses, leadership and supervisor courses along with officer wellness classes. She is a board member and Chaplain for her local Fraternal Order of Police. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida and her Masters of Science degree from the University of Denver in Leadership in Organizations-Human Capital. She has been the Training Chair for the National Association of Women in Law Enforcement Executives for the past three years and was recently elected to the executive board as the 2nd Vice President.
